He was born June 19, 1943 in Artesia, NM, the son of Robert C. and Lula L. (Jones) Davis, Sr. He was a 1962 graduate of Highland Park High School. He served in the U.S. Army.
Bob was employed by Western Electric Company and then for Northern Telecom/Nortel Communications, retiring in 2000.
He was a member of Northland Christian Church, Paralyzed Veterans of America, American Legion and Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Topeka.
Bob married Evelyn May Craft on June 7, 1964 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include four children: his daughter Kimberly “Kim” Meier (Bill Krause),of Rogers, MN and children, Chelsea Obregon, Kennedy Meier, Mason Meier, Brickey Meier and McKensie Meier; his son Darrel Davis, of El Dorado, KS and children, Destani and Daelin Davis; his son Donald “Donnie” Davis of Wyoming, MN, his son Dion Davis (Heather), of Topeka, and children, Hannah Davis, Morgan Davis, Kamryn Davis and Hudson Davis. Extended family members reside in Louisiana, Nebraska and Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elizabeth Jones and Celia Breault.
Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family always came first. His enjoyments included NASCAR and his “real” dogs. He had a host of long-time friends that were very dear to him.
Bob was cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Northland Christian Church, 3102 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66617. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association, Keith Worthington Chapter, Mission, KS 66202. Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Topeka is assisting the family.
