Marilyn Wilson, daughter of Henry and Vera (Bell) Seck joined the family circle in Heaven on December 12, 2014. Her first breath of life was May 24, 1929 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Marilyn graduated from Haven High School; Emporia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education; and then Kansas State University with a Master’s Degree in Education. She taught school for a total of 40 years in Turin, Hutchinson, and Clay Center, Kansas.
Marilyn married Robert Wilson and they had one daughter. They later divorced.
When not teaching, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and working outside. In retirement, she also enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe and spending time with the family.
She lived in Hutchinson, Kansas until 1962 and lived in Clay Center until 2006 when she moved to Topeka. In Topeka, she lived at Arbor Court (Drury Place) until she passed away.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and
Vera Seck; infant brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Seck and great-granddaughter, Brenlee Lister.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Craton) Pendleton, granddaughter, Tammy (Nick) Lister, and 3 great-grandchildren, Reese, Reegen and Kayeslee Lister.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Marilyn's life from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the March of Dimes or Arbor Court Retirement Community of Topeka.
