Leslie L. “Lee” Kennedy, II, 67, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at home from pancreatic cancer. He was born July 8, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Leslie Lee Kennedy and Emma Flora (Furst) Samek.

Lee graduated from Seaman High School in 1965. Lee enlisted in the United State Air Force in September 1965. He was a Sergeant and served time in Vietnam. Lee was currently employed by the Veterans Administration in Topeka, Kansas, as a grounds keeper for over 15 years.

Lee married Donna Wilson in 2014. She survives. He is also survived by his son, Dusty L. Kennedy of Topeka; step-daughter, Jennifer Tibbits; two sisters, Shirley D. Cummings of Topeka and Barbara J. Mikijanis of Tonganoxie; brother, Wesley D. Kennedy of Topeka; and one grandson, Nathan Tibbits.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie L. Kennedy; and grandparents Harry and Hazel Furst and William Kennedy.

Lee’s interests and hobbies were working on cars and motorcycles. Lee loved spending time with family and friends, helping friends, working on houses, antique car shows, flea markets, and garage sales.

At Lee's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
