1956 - 2016

Kathleen Murray-Garcia, 60, of Wakefield, Kansas, passed away on December 24, 2016. Dove Cremation & Funeral Service of Junction City, Kansas is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. A memorial service will be held on January 20, 2017, 10:00 am, at the Madura Congregational Church, 802 Grove St., Wakefield, Kansas, 67487.

She was born on February 16, 1956, Ft. Riley, Kansas to John and Sophie (Manukowski) Murray. Kathy was the 6th of 11 children. She grew up in Chapman with a good dose of love, laughter and discipline. She spent most of her adult years here in Kansas, with a few detours to other states like Florida, Illinois and Arizona. Kathy worked at a number of different jobs to include Tony’s pizza and the Hideaway in Milford where she pretty much ran the place for John Alpi. She had to leave the job force after being the Asst. Librarian in Wakefield to help with her Mom’s care. Kathy always enjoyed being outside, especially fishing or riding on the Harley and socializing with family and friends; they were the most important things in her life. With a spirit as free as the wind, and a heart as deep as the ocean, Kathy left an imprint in the mind and hearts of everyone who had ever met her. On February 29, 2000 she married Randy Garcia. Randy and Kathy lived in Wakefield, Kansas.

Kathy is survived by her loving Husband, Randy; their Fur Baby, Harley Davidson Murray-Garcia; Son, Matt (Julie) Murray of Wakefield, KS; Granddaughter, Katie D. (Blaine) Tholstrup of Jamestown, KS; Grandsons, Christian S. Fancher and Dalton M. Murray of Wakefield, KS; Step-Daughter, Rhiannon M. Garcia (Allan Moore); Granddaughter, Breanna Stevens; Grandson, Christian Stevens; Step-Daughter, Randi M. Garcia (David Moore); Grandson, Tyler Waid; Granddaughters, Kayli Waid and Christina Waid, all of Abilene, KS.
