Homer “Nick” Nathaniel Cole, 75, of Topeka, passed away December 1, 2016. He was born October 2, 1941 at Champaign, Illinois to Dr. Homer Lester Cole and Anne Greta (Soderberg) Cole. He was raised in Champaign and Eldorado, Illinois. He received his bachelor’s degree from Indianapolis University and his master’s degree from the University of Nebraska.

Nick married Betty Joy in November of 1968 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was self-employed and retired in 1996. He was a member of the Topeka PC Users Club and the American Chemical Society. His hobbies included photography, gardening and computers.

Nick is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty; his son Mark Cole; 2 step sons and 1 step daughter; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and his sister Frances Ramsey (Cole).

He was preceded in death by his parents.

No memorial services will be held at this time. Inurnment will be at Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado, Illinois at a later date.
