Rosa Newman
June 3, 1934 – September 24, 2016

Heaven gained another angel. Rosa Newman, 82, of Junction City, KS, went peacefully in her sleep a little after 4am, September 24, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 805 Caroline Ave., Junction City, KS, with Father Gale Hammerschmidt officiating. A one hour Visitation will follow the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Gentiva Hospice 900 E. First Street, Suite A, McPherson, KS 67460.

In the past couple of weeks our cousins and aunt from Texas came down to visit her, which was a wonderful surprise for her. She was able to see and visit with a lot of her family before she passed. We truly believe this brought her peace and comfort. We thank God every day that we were able to have her in our lives as long as we did. Words cannot express how much we will miss her. We definitely have some great memories over these many years of her life. Our Grandmother loved to play bingo, lottery, and loved to cook for you. Some of her favorite programs on television were: The Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, Survivor, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs play.

Our family loved to go play Bingo with her when she was healthy enough to play and trust me you did not talk at the table when you were playing Bingo with Grandma. She always hoped to win the lottery and win big so she could share her winnings with the family. Unfortunately, that never happened. Our Grandmother was also an awesome cook. In her earlier years, when she was still able to cook, she made the most delicious German food. If you were ever visiting at her house you never left hungry, I can tell you that. In fact, you got sent home with a “to go” plate.

Some people would refer to her as being stubborn and bullheaded. Well yeah maybe a little bit. To us she was just Grandma, kind hearted, responsible, honest, and always told you what she thought. She was one of those people that always paid her bills. When the mail man came her favorite words were "yep bills bills bills bills". In conclusion: Thank you Grandma for everything you have done for our family. Thank you for the smiles, hugs, kisses, those hard laughs that made us cry, and last but not least thank you for all the great food over the years. You are gone but will never be forgotten. You will truly be missed. We love you. R.I.P. Grandma Newman. Till we meet again.

Rosa Newman was preceded in death by her mother and father Anna and Gustav Richter, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Her sons Larry and Michael Dean Williams and daughter Linda Flores. She is survived by her sister Anna, daughters and son-in-laws Rosie and John Hall and Gabriella and Doug Sherraden, son Ronnie Newman, son-in-law Salvador Flores, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
