1922 - 2016

Robert G. Keeshan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away July 16, 2016 at Midland Hospice at the age of 94.

He is survived by his children Robert E. Keeshan (Debbie), Mary Pacey (Mike), Marjorie Nadler (Larry), and Nancy Keeshan; grandchildren Todd and Matt Pacey, Victoria Mabon (Joe), Lori Threadgold (Brian), Zachariah Keeshan (Kayla), Jessica Connery (Patrick), and Kellie and Cara Nadler; great-grandchildren Jackson, Madison, and Makinley Teal, Elize Pacey, Audrey, Whitney, and Delaney Threadgold, Rowan and Huxley Keeshan, and Claire Connery; and his brother Phil Keeshan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Keeshan, as well as his parents Thomas and Lewis Keeshan, and siblings Kathleen Bryan, Richard Keeshan, Connie Teschner McDaniel, and Margaret Hope Keeshan.

Robert was born April 9, 1922 in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1940. In World War II, he served 39 months in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He married the love of his life, Margaret Baker Keeshan August 24, 1947. He worked as an auto mechanic prior to working as an IBM Customer Service Engineer for 32 years. He loved to travel, camp, and help others. Robert was well known for his ability as a jack of all trades do-it-yourself repairman. We always said he could fix anything but a broken heart, and sometimes that. He shared his talents widely, was deeply loved and respected by his family and friends, and will leave behind many fond memories.

The memorial service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel Tuesday, July 19, 2016 with visitation at 2PM and the service at 3PM.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Francis Health Foundation, 1700 SW 7th St. Topeka, KS 66606-1690 and/or the Topeka Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 8350, Topeka, KS 66608-0350.
