Wanda J. Biber, 87, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka. She was born May 29, 1928, in Rose, Kansas, the daughter of Oscar H. and Daisy F. (Smith) Dutro. She was raised in Rose and Yates Center, Kansas. In 1944, Wanda came to Topeka. She first worked for Saffell’s Café and then Ed Marlings Furniture and Appliance Store, where she retired in May 1990.
Wanda was married to Harold C. Biber, Jr. They later divorced. She is survived by her sons, Gary L. Biber (Sandra) and Luke M. Biber; one brother, Mark Dutro (Lucille) of New Mexico; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Dutro of Arizona; four grandchildren, Colene McConnell, Karla Biber, Michael Biber and Norman Biber; and three great-grandsons, Joshua, Jaron, and Jason McConnell. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, in Topeka.
