Marvelle M. Dunaway, 92, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. She was born September 3, 1923, in Osawatomie, Kansas, the daughter of George โ€œPatโ€ and Mildred (Kincheloe) Cockran. She was a 1941 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

Marvelle married Vernon W. Dunaway Jr. in 1945 and they made their home in Osawatomie, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1993. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Joann Kirk of Tucson and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Jeff (Janet) Dunaway of Topeka, daughter, Gayle Dunaway of Puerto Aventuras, Mexico; granddaughters, Jennifer (Todd) VandeVelde of Topeka and Marlena Adams of Mexico; great-grandchildren, Cole and Grace VandeVelde of Topeka.

Marvelle loved a good game of bridge-she played whenever she could. Most of all, she loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marvelle was cremated. A gathering to remember Marvelle will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Friday, April 29th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd. Topeka, KS 66604.
