Pamela Joyce Hodge, 65, of Topeka, passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday, January 31, 2016.

She was born June 22, 1950, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Samuel Howard and Shirley Jean (Fiske) Grimes. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Southwest Missouri State. Pamela was employed by the State of Kansas for 25 years, retiring in 2007. Mrs. Hodge was a member of the Northland Christian Church of Topeka.

Pamela is survived by her husband Raymond E. Hodge. They were married on November 9, 1978 in Lenexa, KS. Other survivors include a son Nathan and wife Kristen of Topeka; and her Texas children, daughter Debbie Fritchman and husband Richard, Robert Hodge and wife Kim, Valerie Hodge, Chris Hodge, Rebecca Bryant and husband David. She was blessed to have 14 grandchildren; Joseph, Alex, Christopher, Sarah, Robbie, Chris Jr., Haley, Jessie James, Alec, Jessica, Justin, Ariel, Jett, Haley and Heather; her closest grandson Cole Hodge of Topeka will miss his "MiMi" and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Rick Grimes and wife, Suzanne, sister Janine DeBacker and husband Kevin; a nephew Ryan Grimes and a niece, Shannon Wuerflein and many more extended family in Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Jean Grimes, and her father, Samuel Howard Grimes. Also preceding her were her uncle Robert "Bob" Grimes and an infant daughter Misty Dawn Kennedy.

Pamela enjoyed collecting roosters, having morning coffee with her husband watching the wildlife outside their window. Spending time with family and friends was also very important to her.

Honoring her request, Pamela was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm., Friday, February 12, 2016, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 S.W. 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66606.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital Travel Fund C/o Arab Temple, 1305 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66612.
