Connie Sue Adkins, Topeka, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Midland Care Hospice House. Connie was born May 27, 1949 in Holton, Kansas the daughter of Clarence and Betty Doherty. She graduated from Denison High School in 1967 and attended American Career College in 1994 for accounting.

Connie was employed by Prairie Band casino as an income control clerk until her retirement in 2012. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and playing softball. Spending time with her two children and three grandkids was always a priority.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Pamela Ortega. She is survived by her son Brent Adkins and her daughter Miranda Adkins both of Topeka; her sister, Kathi Meredith of Topeka; her brother, Dennis Doherty of Mayetta; and 3 grandchildren: Aneesa, Trey and Kaylee.

A memorial service will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Connection, 200 SW Frazier Cir. Topeka, KS 66606.
