1941 - 2015

Edwin D. “Ed” Campbell, 74, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015. He was born March 13, 1941, in Berryton, Kansas, the son of Russell and Melvina Martin Campbell and raised in Omaha, Nebraska at Boys Town.

Ed served in the United States Army for 23 years after serving 2 tours in Vietnam and the rest in Germany.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Campbell, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Much of their married life was spent in California and Germany.

Other survivors include brother, Lyle Campbell; sisters, DiAnn Mitchell and Sherry Allen; many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leslie Campbell; and youngest sister, Pat Eygnor.

Ed loved children, teasing, and laughing. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2015 at North Topeka Baptist Church, 123 Gordon St. (Use west entrance please). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ed’s name.
