James D. "Sandy" Sanschagrin
1950 - 2015
Jim or “Sandy” (as he was known to his co-workers in the auto repair business) worked as service manager for many car dealerships and garages in Topeka and surrounding areas. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1970-1971.
Jim married Diana Hickey in 1972. She survives of the home. Jim and Diana have 2 surviving children, daughter, Lori (Sanschagrin) Bolte; son, Jason Sanschagrin; mother, Dorothy Sanschagrin; grandchildren, Payton, Parker and Preston Bolte who were the light of Jim’s life. He is also survived by his aunts, Jacqueline Borucki and Barbara Luttjohann; uncle, Larry Luttjohann and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Sanschagrin and brother, Tom Sanschagrin.
Jim loved water skiing, playing golf, old cars (especially Corvettes) and boating. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the many acts of kindness and messages of sympathy. They have been so comforting during Jim's illness and passing.
