Judy Ann Wagstaff
1947 - 2015

Judy Ann (Williams) Wagstaff, 67, of Topeka, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. She was born November 21, 1947, in Holton, KS, the daughter of Leland “Jack” and Rose (Bowman) Williams. Judy graduated from Netawaka High School in 1965. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Washburn University in 1969.

Judy worked as a school teacher for USD 501 for over 18 years, teaching at both A.J. Stout and Maude Bishop Elementary Schools, before retiring in 2007.

While Judy, (“Meem” as she was called by her grandkids) enjoyed teaching, her greatest enjoyment came from her time raising her kids as a stay-at-home mom and spending time with her family. She was dedicated to her family and attended all of the activities and sporting events of her kids and grandkids. She loved volunteering at their schools, going on the family’s annual canoe trip for more than 30 years with her “Canoe Crew”, and her annual girl’s night out shopping trip to Kansas City with her friends. Judy was the most positive person her family ever knew, never complaining nor having a bad day. She lived life to its fullest with a smile on her face.

Judy married her husband of 45 years, Stan Wagstaff on August 9, 1969 in Topeka. He survives. Judy is also survived by her daughter, Jennifer Carter (Chris); son, Justin Wagstaff; grandchildren, Jack, Ben and Kate; brother, Leland “Lee” Williams (Mary Lou); and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents.

As per her request, Judy was cremated and no funeral will be held. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
