In Memory Of
Terry D. Carlile
1962 - 2015

Terry Don Carlile, 52, passed away on February 26, 2015 at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kansas. That day we lost a son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Terry slipped away surrounded by family after a valiant fight with cancer.

Terry was born June 11, 1962, in Liberal, Kansas, to Don and Phyllis Carlile.
After graduating from Liberal High School in 1981 he went on to have a long career in family businesses, and then as a commercial tire salesman for GCR, a division of Bridgestone.

Terry was very active at Southwest Christian Church in Topeka, Kansas as an elder and head of the missions committee. Always dedicated to the Lord and his service, God and family were first in his life.

Terry was a man loved by many with enough heart for all. He had a penchant for laughter and spread that sound around. His philosophy that everyone deserves conversation turned strangers into friends. Traveling widely with his sisters, he earned the title of CEO of Luggage.

Terry was preceded in death by his father Don, Janet Cokeley (the love of his life), and his beloved dog Lucky. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Carlile, four siblings, Connie Carlile, Susan Barker, Steve Carlile (Pat), and Jack Carlile (Chris). He leaves behind children – Jeremy Carlile (Katie), Tera Carlile, Ben Martin (Jessica), Adam Martin, and Eric Carlile. “Captain” also leaves behind four grandchildren, Ryker, Aunika, Bailey, and Asher.

To say he will be missed is a vast understatement. We feel blessed having known him and are better people because of his unrelentless love. The world has lost an amazing human being and will forever be a little less bright.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 pm in Topeka, Kansas at Southwest Christian Church, 5747 SW Huntoon. A second service before his interment will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 2:00 pm in Liberal, Kansas at Central Christian Church, 500 North Lincoln Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Southwest Christian Church.
