Charles Keith Kastner, 89, of Topeka passed away on February 9, 2018. Born July 4, 1928, in Wamego, KS, he was the son of Marion “Tub” and Emma Kastner of Westmoreland. Charles grew up on the family farm east of Westmoreland.
He was a graduate of Westmoreland High School.
After graduation he worked for Seaboard Allied Milling Company in Topeka and Kansas City, where he retired after 35 years as the office manager.
Charles married Frances Ebel. They later divorced.
He enjoyed all kinds of hunting and fishing, especially deer hunting in Colorado and Wyoming. He also enjoyed playing card games of all types and traveling. Visits from his family, grandkids and great-grandkids were hi-lights in his life.
Charles was preceded in death by youngest son, Steven, three siblings; Maxine Ferguson, Donald Kastner and Norman Kastner. He is survived by his son, Jerry (Julie) Kastner, two grandsons; Matthew (Bri) Kastner and Andrew (Caitlin) Kastner, two step-grandsons; Tyler and Trevor Jones, two great-grandkids; Benton and Scarlett Kastner, a sister, Myrna Kastner and many extended family members.
A graveside service will be at a later date at West Lawn Cemetery, Topeka.
