Lester Lavern "Les" Elliott, 87, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away on January 27, 2018 at Good Shepherd Hospice House.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 am Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 8950 Elk Creek Road, Manhattan, KS 66502.

Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Hospice House, 3801 Vanesta Drive, Manhattan, KS 66503 or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).

He was born on February 27, 1930, Washington, Kansas to Luther and Alice (Millison) Elliott.

Les attended a rural country school in Washington, KS and graduated in 1942 with an 8th grade education. He served as a Navy seaman on a ship stationed in San Diego, CA from 1948-1951. Les attended El Paso Real Estate College were he obtained his realtor's license in 1979. He was an experienced Salesman for over 50 years with over 25 years at Ford dealerships. He also worked on a railroad and owned Gallery Cocktails, El Paso, TX 1981-1983. Lester was a member of the American Legion Post #17.

On January 30, 1955 he married Margaret "Jo" Montgomery, who passed away in October of 1981. In March of 1985, Les married Betty J. Ottinger, who passed away in February of 1994.

Lester is survived by his Daughter, Leslie (Ted) Ayon; Son, Gregory "Bud" (Vicky) Elliott; Brother, Eldon Elliott; Two Grandsons, TJ Ayon and Steven Elliott; Granddaughter, Tessie Ayon (Drew) Riffel; Two Step-Grandsons, Matt (Jessica) Huff and Josh (Mallory) Huff; Two Great-Grandchildren, Taylor and Delaney Riffel; Four Step-Great Grandchildren, Hunter, Dawson, Stetson, and Maddix.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Alice Elliott; Wives, Margaret "Jo" Elliott and Betty J. Elliott; 5 Brothers, Orvin, Luther, Dale, Chester, and Winston; 5 Sisters, Priscilla, Leona, Orva, Alice, and Velma; and Daughter, Kelly J Elliott.


Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, of Junction City, is assisting with cremation arrangements.
