Della White, 74, of Westmoreland, Kansas passed away on September 3, 2017 at Stormont Vail Hospital surrounded by family. Born March 30, 1943, in Hastings, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Gerald Will “Bill” and Lora Anna “Mae” Rightmeier.

She was a graduate of Riley County High School; Class of 1960.

Della married Ernest White on October 16, 1960. They were married for nearly 57 years.

Della enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors but she really enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren. She was an exceptional seamstress and sewed everything from doll clothes, wedding dresses, to quilting and upholstering. She drove a school bus for USD 323 for 20+ years and considered her passengers "her kids" and many call her Grandma Della to this day. She enjoyed being a member of OCTA, Oregon-California Trail Association, where she and Ernie followed the trail from Kansas City to Oregon and California.

She is survived by her husband, eight children; Laurie (Bill) Henry, Jackie (Mike) Blenn, Bonnie Seehafer, Cathy (David) Stauffer, Nicky (Nick) Newman, Becky (Steve Roggenkamp) White, Ben (Cedar) White, Daisy (Josh Seward) White, 13 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers; Fred Rightmeier and Charlie (Sandy) Rightmeier and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Sedalia Community Church, 6040 N 52nd St. Manhattan, KS 66503.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
