Mary Lou (Robson) Cox, 93, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017.

She was born March 19, 1924, in Mayetta, Kansas, the daughter of William and Emma (Bertsch) Robson.

Mary Lou was a graduate of Mayetta High School and Washburn University where she received her bachelor’s degree in English and Music. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and was currently attending Countryside United Methodist Church.

Mary Lou married J. Edward Cox on June 11, 1950. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1994.

Survivors include daughter, Miriam Cox of Topeka; nieces, Susan (Robert) Ward of Topeka, and Nancy Cox of Minneapolis; and nephew, David Kay of San Diego.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, where the family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3625 SW 29th Street, Suite 102, Topeka, Kansas 66614 or Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
