In Memory Of
Christopher Allan "Kit" Houser
1964 - 2017

Christopher Allan Houser, 52, passed away 7-13-2017 of various health complications. He leaves behind his family Kathleen Houser, Danielle Dymon, Ruth Houser, Sarah Houser and brother Theodore (Ted) Houser. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Velda Houser.

Born December 3rd 1964 to Richard and Velda (Timm) Houser. Chris(Kit) was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman in his younger years. He enjoyed spending time with his brother Ted and cousin Chip going on numerous adventures with them. Raised in Abilene Kansas he graduated a Cowboy in 1983. For the next 4 years he spent serving his country in the Air force, Army and National Guard. After moving to Emporia Kansas, he met and married Kathleen (Deters) Houser. Which made him an instant family man/ step-father to Danielle Dymon. Together they had 2 daughters Ruth E. Houser in 1988 and Sarah A.A. Houser in 1990. Chris had numerous jobs; IBP- head dropper, harvesting crew- truck driver, farm hand and vehicle mechanic. When he got into construction he found his love was welding. Chris (Frosty) got his national certification and became a journeyman iron worker(JIW) for local union 10. He took great pride in his work as an iron worker and helping his friends with any projects they need help with.

Known for being a jack of all trades, Chris was always quick to help those in need and especially those close to his heart. He enjoyed gardening, being outside and working with his hands in general. After his car accident in 2010 he struggled with unemployment and making ends meet. But being the person that he was, he found a way to make ends meet. (THANK YOU TO THE MANY FRIENDS WHO HELPED HIM) He was always quick to teach and explain things and was inevitably prideful. You'd never find a kinder heart in a human being. Even if he was hurting from the day before or the day was unbearably hot/cold, he never shied away from lending a helping hand. Chris was always full of stories from his many life experiences from boy scouts, family vacations, motorcycle road trips, jobs and every day life with his family and friends. He always enjoyed a good laugh, and was notorious for his off-the-wall one-liners. Words can not express how much he will be missed.

A memorial account has been setup at Envista credit union in Topeka to assist his family with his final expenses. Donations can be made to the Chris Houser memorial fund at any branch of Envista throughout Topeka.

Memorial services will be August 26th from 9am to 1pm at the Goodyear Shelter House NW 25th St and Indianola Rd. For any questions please contact Ruth Houser (785)749-2416.
