In Memory Of
Arden Dale "Aaren" King
1998 - 2017

Arden King, 18, died tragically on June 25, 2017 near his home in Topeka, Kansas while trying to protect a friend from an armed burglary. Much like the Superman character he idolized, Arden always put others before himself and his last act was one of true heroism.

Arden was an incredibly funny, helpful, loyal, strong and kind young man with a razor sharp wit. He was just starting out in life and had goals: work hard, get an apartment, buy a car, get his GED, go to Washburn for auto tech, meet the right girl and treat her like a princess. He loved hanging out with his best friends, playing video games, collecting hats, taking care of animals, and talking with his mom and little brother, Andrew.

To see a life - a life most of us have known since he was a little guy with blonde curls and a big dimpled grin - just starting to flourish and then to come to such a sudden and violent end is the epitome of unfair.

He is survived by his mother Kelly Briones and stepfather Gabriel Briones, his brother Andrew, grandparents, aunt/uncle/cousins, and countless friends - all of whom miss him desperately.

"This earth is now and forever will be a darker place without him in it. He was my everything. My best friend. My rock. My world. And I was so very proud of him and the man he had become. My Son, My Superman. I love you. Always. - Mom"

A celebration of his life will be held at Gage Park this Sunday, July 2 from 3-5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated. We are trying to raise enough money for the family to move out of the rough neighborhood where their son was killed. http://www.youcaring.com/supermanarden
